The diver of the other car, Cecil R. Fox, was also killed, and the two passengers on the car with Fax were injured.<br /><br />Stockstill left Andrews about 1 p.m. Sunday to visit his brother Corbett in Crosbyton and was returning home when the accident occurred.<br /><br />He was born March 4th, 1919 in Randeletta, Oklahoma. He moved with his family to Palo Pinto County where his parents still reside.<br /><br />He enlisted in the 124th Calvary, a unit of the National Guard, in 1940. He made the Louisiana maneuvers and underwent training at Fort Ringold on the Texas border and at Fort Bliss in El Paso. He was later transferred to the 112th Calvary which was shipped to the Southwest Pacific. The outfit fought their way from New Caledonia up through New Guinea, New Britain, and the Philippines. Stockstill was a machine gunner in Company F and was promoted to the rank of sergeant after distinguishing himself in many battles.<br /><br />Upon discharge from the Army the deceased entered partnership business with Harold Roberts, in Andrews, Both were together in the same outfit throughout the war. They were contractors in the shot hole drilling business with headquarters in Andrews at the time of the accident.<br /><br />Jack Stockstill is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Stockstill, Miner Wells; two brothers, Noble H., Ft. Worth, and Corbett, Crosbyton; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Dashner, and Miss Edyth Stockstill, both of Ft. Worth. Members of the stockstill's troop were pallbearers. The body was interred in the Memorial Cemetery in Mineral Wells.<br /><br />The following attended the funeral from Andrews: Mr. and Mrs. Charles W.
